How Overeating "Bad" Carbs Can Make Us Fat
When glucose isn't needed right away it is stored in the liver and muscle cells as glycogen.
If the body has too much glucose and all its glycogen storage sites are full, it will convert thisglucose to fat. This explains why it's necessary to watch your consumption of high glycemic foods.
When you consume "bad" carbs you simply aren't giving your body the proper fuel. You wouldn't use the wrong fuel in your car so why put it in your body?
"Good" Fats vs. "Bad" Fats
Another thing that most nutrition experts agree on is watching the "bad" fats in your diet. The "bad" fats are the saturated and trans fats which may increase your risk for developing certain diseases. The saturated fats are fats that are usually solid at room temperature.
The trans fats are the hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils found in many processed foods such as crackers, cookies, potato chips, and other processed snack foods.

What To Eat

An easy way to do this is to mentally picture an imaginary line down the center of your plate. In people with diabetes, insulin levels are insufficient, causing glucose to build up in the blood instead of going into cells. The food exchange system has 3 main groups or categories of food and simply by exchanging one food for another, you will be able to eat the nutrients your body needs while balancing the glucose in your blood. These 3 groups are: fats, carbohydrates and protein like meat or protein substitutes like cheese and eggs. When you first begin using this food exchange system, it can be confusing but as you use it to maintain balanced blood sugar levels you will be more familiar of how it works and you shouldn't be hungry.

The carbohydrates are broken down into starches, breads, fruits, vegetables, milk and sweets. A meal plan may say you can have 2 1/2 servings of carbohydrates to eat at your meal, you choose 2 full servings of 2 different foods and 1/2 of another. These are measured proportions of a serving or grams. For example: 1 bread or 1 starch food, 1 small fruit, and 1/2 cup of milk or you may choose 1 cup of milk, 1/2 slice bread or 1/2 serving of potatoes and 1 small fruit. The thing to remember is to exchange one for the other. Total grams you should consume at a meal is 12 to 15 grams of carbohydrates, 7 grams of protein and 5 grams of fat.

After using and becoming familiar with the grams or servings of the food exchange system, you will be able to choose foods that you enjoy eating, balance your sugar intake, maintain your weight and receive the proper nutrients to maintain a healthy body and lifestyle. Cure For Autism

There are many methods and therapies that have been shown to improve the symptoms of autism. However, at this point in time there is no single method that has been medically proven that will cure autism.

Unfortunately there are many techniques that claim to cure autism and that claim to have medical proof. Possibly the worst are those that claim they have developed antidotes creating the belief that a single potion will cure autism.

The route for producing an actual cure must start with a concept. The concept is then tested and after a certain amount of medical research, there has to be a medical report or publication that is published for review by the medical community. Once the medical papers have been published the medical community support or reject the medical data presented.

After a certain degree of acceptance by the community and by an established medical society or institution, preferably a government organisation, can a cure actually be known as a cure.

False treatments and medicines that have been labelled as a cure are either not supported by any medical research or by recognised institutions.

Finding an autism cure is a minefield for parents because on the internet there are many websites and sales pages that try to convince people that they have a cure. The products or techniques that are offered may actually work, and they may even be supported by research but until the research is published and accepted - it’s not a proven cure.

The main reason for this is because medical research can be easily distorted and misrepresented to show numbers and figures that make it look like the research is an absolute certainty. This is why it has to be subject to, what are often called, medical pier reviews.

These help autistic people gain more control over their sensory processing or body. However these help autistic people manage and overcome their autistic symptoms which may lead to what could be considered a cure, but they do not remove them as a cure would.

So don’t be fooled by claims and hype about cures and potions for autism and be cautious about spending money on techniques and therapies until you have a good idea what the therapy does and how it can help.

How The Food You Eat Help You Cure Diabetes?

Every food is a medicine. What you eat is very important from the point of view of your health. There are no cut and dry methods and medicines by which you can cure diabetes. In fact, perfect cure for diabetes is yet to be found, in any system of medicine. But, Ayurvedic medicines are far near to the point of curing diabetes. This disease can certainly be controlled by Ayurveduic medicines.

The prime concern in controlling diabetes is to see that the sugar level does not cross the recommended level. This means you need to avoid certain types of food and take regularly those food which are good for controlling diabetes.

In short, processed foods and junk food, must be totally given up. Avoid sweets, glucose, fruit sugar, cakes, ice cream, chocolates, soft drinks, cream and fried foods. Drink abundant water, at least 8 to 10 glasses per day. If you can make the habit of it, raw vegetables need to be taken in large quantity. Cooked food raise the level of blood sugar fast. This apart, cooking destroys vitamins, enzymes and minerals in the vegetables and fruits.

The real treatment of diabetes is through the fruits that you take. Take grapes, Indian blackberry, fig, kiwi fruits and citrus fruits and pomegranate juice. Let these things be your morning breakfast. As for vegetables, onion, garlic, radish, cucumber, carrot, tomato, cabbage and cucumber are excellent in the treatment of diabetes. Moong sprouted and unripe banana cooked, are also recommended.

The next important part of the diet is to take those fruits and vegetables in which fiber content is very high. Such type of food lowers the need for insulin, the reason being it releases energy into the body cells slowly. High fiber diet means more chromium which is very helpful in the treatment of diabetes.
Some herbs and vegetables are specifically prescribed for diabetes, like Bitter Gourd and bitter melon juice.
